Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026 · Last updated October 8, 2026
Sky EKO is where musicians book studios, hire music pros, protect their rights and fund their projects. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to skyeko.com, the Sky EKO apps and any service that links to this policy (together, "Sky EKO").
Sky EKO is operated by Sky EKO LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Sky EKO", "we", "us"). Questions about this policy go to privacy@skyeko.com.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account: your email address, and your password if you choose one (we store only a secure hash, never the password itself).
- Profile: display name, handle, photo, roles (for example artist, studio owner, engineer or producer), full name, artist name, language, currency, time zone and notification settings.
- Listings: if you host, your studio's name, address, location, photos, rooms, prices, opening hours, equipment and amenities.
- Bookings and orders: the sessions you request or accept, dates and times, prices, notes and cancellations.
- Messages and reviews: messages you send through Sky EKO, and reviews and ratings you write.
- Payments: when payments are available, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your card or bank details directly. We receive only limited details, such as the last four digits, payment status and payout status. Hosts and pros may also need to verify their identity with Stripe.
- Support: anything you send when you contact us.
Information from Google sign-in
If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us, as you approve on Google's consent screen. See section 4.
Information collected automatically
- Sign-in session: essential cookies that keep you signed in and protect your account.
- Device and log data: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and dates and times. Our hosting and database providers record these for security, reliability and fraud prevention.
- Preferences on your device: small settings, such as whether you last signed in with a password or an email link, are stored in your browser.
- Error reports: when something breaks, our error monitoring provider (Sentry) receives a technical report: the error, the page or feature involved, your browser and device type, how long pages took to load, and your account's internal id. We set it up to leave out your name, email address, messages, searches and payment details, and to remove sign-in links, passwords and keys, before a report is sent.
We do not use advertising cookies or analytics, and we do not sell or rent your personal information. If we add analytics, we will update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- create and secure your account and sign you in;
- show your public profile and listings, and run search and discovery;
- handle booking requests, confirmations, cancellations, messages and reviews between members;
- process payments, payouts and refunds through our payment processor, when available;
- send service emails, such as sign-in links, confirmations, booking updates and security notices (you can turn off optional notifications in Profile);
- keep Sky EKO safe: prevent fraud, abuse and spam, and enforce our Terms;
- fix problems and improve Sky EKO;
- comply with the law and with tax and accounting obligations.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases are:
- performing our contract with you (running your account, bookings and payments);
- our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention and improving the service, balanced against your rights);
- your consent (where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time);
- legal obligations.
3. What other people can see
- Public: your display name, handle, photo, roles, published listings (including a studio's address and location), and reviews you write.
- The other party to a booking: what they need to complete the session. For example, a host sees the artist's name, booking details and messages, and the artist sees the studio's details and messages.
- Private: your email address, full name, settings and payment details.
4. Google user data
When you sign in with Google, Sky EKO requests only these scopes: openid, email and profile. With them we receive your name, email address and profile picture.
- How we use it: only to create your Sky EKO account, sign you in, and prefill your display name and profile photo, which you can change at any time.
- How we share it: only with the service providers that run Sky EKO for us (section 5), only as needed to provide the service, or when the law requires it. We never sell it and never use it for advertising.
- How we store and protect it: in our database, under the same protections as the rest of your account (section 7).
- How to remove it: delete your account (section 8), or disconnect Sky EKO at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Sky EKO's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Who we share information with
We share personal information only:
- with service providers who run Sky EKO for us, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage);
- Vercel (hosting);
- our email delivery provider;
- Google (sign-in, if you choose it);
- Mapbox (maps and address search). When you search for an address, Mapbox receives the text you type. If you're listing a studio and choose "Use my location", it also receives your device's location, to find the nearest address. As with any online service, it also receives your IP address and device data;
- Stripe (payments, payouts and identity checks, when available);
- Sentry (error monitoring). It receives the error reports described in section 1. As with any online service, it also receives your IP address, which it is set not to store;
- with other members, as described in section 3;
- if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our members, the public or Sky EKO;
- in a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
6. Where your information is stored
Sky EKO is based in the United States, and our main database is hosted in the United States. If you use Sky EKO from another country, your information is transferred to the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses offered by our providers.
7. Security and retention
- Security: we use encryption in transit, row-level access rules in our database, hashed passwords and the principle of least privilege. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password or an email link.
- Retention: we keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days. The exceptions are records we must keep by law, such as payment and tax records (usually up to 7 years), and anything needed to resolve disputes or prevent fraud. Messages and reviews you exchanged with others may remain visible to them, with your name removed.
8. Your choices and rights
You can view and edit most of your information in Profile. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Brazil's LGPD, or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may also have the right to:
- access a copy of your information, or receive it in a portable format;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent;
- not be discriminated against for using these rights.
To use any of these rights, email privacy@skyeko.com from the address on your account. In-app data export and account deletion are coming soon. We answer within 30 days (45 days where the CCPA applies). You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in California law.
9. Children
Sky EKO is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to privacy@skyeko.com and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect, and we will update the date at the top of this page.
